Some of the most beautiful woods come from the Pacific northwest. As a long time resident, I have enjoyed a great deal of time searching for unique woods to craft. Every wooden bowl, vase, or any wood craft seen on this website has been recovered from construction sites, logging sites, or is from city and county maintenance milled by private individuals. These exotic woods can be made from maple, burl, madrone, and other high quality lumber from the northwest. I take great pride to give these natural pieces of art another opportunity to be enjoyed by others!
After thirty-five years of suits and ties, I traded them in for beautiful wood and a lathe. My basic style and techniques are self taught with lots of fire wood and patience. There is nothing more beautiful than what nature gives us hidden within the sometimes grotesque outward appearance of the starting piece of wood which reveals it’s innermost beauty on the lathe. My objective is to utilize my woodcraft skills to provide items that can be used, and still maintain the natural beauty of the wood. I hope you enjoy using them as much as I do making them.
I try very hard to maintain the natural beauty of all my pieces. I use only finishes that enhance Mother Natures designs and uniqueness. All pieces are sealed against moisture and their original beauty can be restored by a light coat of quality wood wax.
